SpiritFest offers fun for everyone
Looking for something fun to do with your family? On a warm Saturday evening in June, the peaceful grounds of Holy Spirit Catholic Church will spring to life with bounce houses, music, food and social activity as the Fifth Annual SpiritFest gets underway.
SpiritFest began five years ago when the parish moved to its new location on Smallhouse Road across from Basil Griffin Park. The vast green space was the perfect setting for a community-wide event. The wheels were set in motion to create an event for the residents of Bowling Green and surrounding areas to gather together and enjoy delicious food and affordable fun for both individuals and families within our community.
In an effort to continue to supply the most fun for your money, SpiritFest will offer a one-price game pass for $7.50 that allows you to play all the games as often as you would like. There are lots of games and activities and they are geared for all ages and interest levels. SpiritFest will have multiple bounce houses for children of all ages, duck ponds, darts, corn hole, golf games, a cake walk and plenty more to keep you entertained! At the end of the evening you may redeem your winnings at the prize booth for the prize (or prizes) of your choice. This is a great opportunity for children and grandchildren to come and play games and be entertained while adults relax and have dinner – all at a price that won’t break the bank!
What about dinner you ask? Over the years, festival attendees have enjoyed delicious barbecue from local business owner and sponsor Jimmy Diemer’s. While that will continue to be an option, there will also be fresh grilled hamburgers and brats to tempt your taste buds. Top it off with a cool treat from Kona Ice, a much-needed sweet finishing touch on the beautiful summer evening!
Wait, there’s more! This year we will have a local DJ supplying music, raffles and horse-drawn carriage rides, provided by Rock’n B Horse Carriage! We have made sure to include entertainment for all ages!
Everyone is welcome. Please make plans and join us at our 2017 SpiritFest, June 10, 2017 from 4-9 p.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 4754 Smallhouse Road in Bowling Green. In case of rain, SpiritFest will be held indoors at the church. We hope to see you and your family there.
